Barrington Coffee Roasters - Espresso Blend #165

Barrington Coffee Espresso Blend #165
Barrington Coffee Roasters - Espresso Blend #165

Origin- Ethiopia and El Salvador
Varietal- Mixed heirlooms and Bourbon-Paca
Process- Washed and Pulped Natural
Roast- Medium

We received a 91 point score for this coffee in July of 2010 from Coffee Review.

Red berry flavors that transition to sweet, warm caramel. Clean and focused with a caramelized sugar richness that follows up the brilliant splash of juicy acidity. We created this espresso blend to broaden the Barrington Coffee espresso experience. Where the Barrington Gold is deep and dense, the 165 is simple and sweet. Our commercial pull recommendation is as up dosed 18 gram, 203F, 23 second, 1 3/4 ounce shot.

Barrington Coffee Roasters - Costa Rica Doka Estate

Barrington Coffee Costa Rica Doka Estate
Barrington Coffee Roasters - Costa Rica Doka Estate

Origin- Central Valley, Costa Rica
Farm- Doka Estate
Producer- Vargas Family
Altitude- 4430-4790′
Varietal- Caturra and Catuai
Process- Washed, sun dried
Roast- Light

Lively and dynamic, concentrated red berry highlights with cocoa and cinnamon on the finish. We have purchased this coffee direct from the Vargas family farm through the Coffee Source since 1996. Don Rodrigo Vargas represents the fourth generation from the Vargas family to produce coffee at Doka and he currently oversees all of the Doka production.

The farm is located from 4,430-4,790 feet in altitude and is right next to the Poás Volcano in Sabanilla de Alajuela. The Poás Volcano is the largest volcanic crater in the world. This coffee has won our hearts for many years. In addition, it has been recognized at the Sinter Café Cupping Competition as the First Place Winner in 2000.

This coffee is a part of the Barrington Green Seal Program which preserves the vibrancy of the green coffee by storing it in an hermetically sealed environment before roasting.

Barrington Coffee Roasters - Decaf Berkshire Organic Blend

Barrington Coffee Decaf Berkshire Organic Blend
Barrington Coffee Roasters - Decaf Berkshire Blend

Origin - Indonesia and the Americas
Varietal - Sidkalang, Bourbon, Typica, others
Process - Semi-washed and washed
Roast - Medium

Bold and luxurious, this coffee combines the dense body that is found in the finest Indonesian coffees with the up front liveliness of coffees from the Americas. It yields a uniquely complex cup with hints of fruit and a sweet chocolatey smooth finish.

The Royal Select Water Process removes caffeine from the coffee bean without the use of harmful chemicals or byproducts. We are big proponents of this process because it quite seamlessly removes the caffeine and leaves all of the great coffee flavor.

Our Organic coffees are certified organic at origin by the National Organic Program (NOP). The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) certifies our Roastery to process 100% Certified Organic coffee through Baystate Organic Certifiers (Winchendon, MA). We strongly support organic agriculture and farming without the use of pesticides, herbicides or synthetic fertilizers.

How to Produce Quality Coffee

So you think you know how coffee is processed? It is so much more than just picking the berries if you are going to have a world class cup. This video from Nordic Approach, a green coffee importer, gives you a glimpse into a day in the life direct from the Nyamagabe district in Southern Rwanda.

Try our Rwanda Gishamwana now available from Kean Coffee. May your coffee taste even sweeter knowing the work that goes into each cup.
